How do I use the tuner?

  1. Open Pickaboo Tuner
  2. Play a note on your instrument
  3. Watch the needle — center means in tune!
  4. Adjust your tuning until the needle stays green

Why isn't the app detecting my instrument?

  • Make sure microphone permission is granted
  • Play closer to your device's microphone
  • Ensure you're in a quiet environment
  • For electric guitars, try playing unplugged or near an amp speaker

What instruments does it support?

Pickaboo works with any instrument. It's a chromatic tuner that detects all notes — A, A#, B, C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#, G, G#.

Does the app work offline?

Yes — Pickaboo works completely offline. No internet required for tuning.

How do I adjust the reference pitch?

Go to Settings in the app to adjust the reference pitch from 432 Hz to 444 Hz. The default is 440 Hz (standard concert pitch).

Why is the tuner picking up background noise?

  • Try tuning in a quieter environment
  • Move closer to your device's microphone
  • Adjust sensitivity in Settings if available
  • Mute other sound sources nearby

  • Let the note ring out clearly
  • Avoid touching other strings while tuning
  • Make sure your strings aren't too old or worn
